Don signs on with The History Press

Don Wilding is happy to announce that he has signed on with The History Press to write "A Brief History of Eastham," which will be published early next summer.

The book will feature chapters on early settlers and their encounters with the Nauset Tribe, landmarks such as the Windmill, the Coast Guard station, and Nauset Light, agricultural Eastham, rum runners, and the Cape Cod National Seashore, plus many more.

Don is the author of "Henry Beston's Cape Cod: How 'The Outermost House' Inspired a National Seashore," published by the Henry Beston Society in 2003 and 2013. A Cape resident for 13 years, Don also pens the regular "Shore Lore" Cape Cod history column for the Cape Codder of Orleans and other Cape newspapers, and was an editor, writer, photographer, and designer for newspapers on the Cape and in southeastern Massachusetts for 30 years.

Founded in 2004, The History Press publishes local and regional history and culture from coast to coast. Be it narratives of local heroes, tragic losses, collections of homegrown recipes, historic mysteries and everything in between, History Press books act as valued touchstones for community identity.
